James Mugabo
Board of Directors

James Mugabo has a background in transportation infrastructure and project management. He brings a systematic approach and a curiosity on how well-built systems can empower the most vulnerable among us.

James’s journey with Acts4Rwanda is rooted in a long-standing friendship with the organization’s founders. Inspired by the stories of transformation shared by Lynda Weir, James felt a desire to contribute his professional expertise to the organization’s vision for sustainable impact. His commitment was further solidified in 2017 during his inaugural visit to the Transformation Center, where he met the people doing the work on the ground in Kigali.

As a native of Rwanda, James provides the Board of Directors with local context and nuance and serves as a bridge between strategic planning and the lived realities of the communities Acts4Rwanda serves. This unique perspective ensures that the organization’s initiatives remain culturally resonant, ethically grounded, and operationally viable within the Rwandan landscape.

Currently balancing his work in education, engineering, and research in information science, James leverages his multidisciplinary background to champion data-informed decisions and resource stewardship. As a member of the Board of Directors, he is dedicated to stewarding the organization’s growth, combining the precision of an engineer with a deep passion for the future of Rwanda.
