BRIAN MITCHELL

BOARD MEMBER / SPONSORSHIP COORDINATOR

Brian has formal education in computer and digital technology, and has been employed at a university hospital for over 36 years.  During that time, he served in a variety of roles within the facilities division, many of which involved responsibilities related to patient care and life-safety issues.  He currently works as IT support for the Radiation Oncology department.

Concurrent with his hospital career, he worked part-time for nearly 14 years at Lifeway Christian Store.  For many of those years, he held the position as a keyholder/manager-on-duty gaining additional leadership skills, operational knowledge, and further customer service experience.

He draws on decades of service and experience with customers, clients, coworkers, contractors, vendors, and the public to support his role as Acts4Rwanda’s Sponsorship Coordinator bringing both relational and organizational expertise to the position.

Brian became acquainted with Acts4Rwanda in mid-2017 upon meeting Lynda, Glen, and Rusty.  In late October of that year, he met one of the African co-founders and heard his life story.  He felt an immediate calling from God to get involved, and his passion for Acts4Rwanda was instantly ignited.  By November, he began sponsoring his first student.  He made his first annual trip to Rwanda in 2023 further deepening his connection to the ministry.  In 2024, he became the Sponsorship Coordinator, and in 2025, he joined the Board of Directors.
